Nic White-Petteruti, Principal

Nic is a Principal at Axiom Consulting Partners based in the Chicago office. He is part of Axiom’s Revenue Growth and Industrial & Energy sector practices.  

Nic brings over a decade of client services experience across both the design engineering and consulting segments. His strong analytical and communication skills enable him to develop clear, data-rich growth strategies that help clients better understand critical issues and make more informed decisions.

I have an innate curiosity and a love of learning. It’s virtually impossible to match the level of knowledge of clients who have lived their industry for 20, 30, or 40+ years, but I find that coming into a new client situation with an open mind and curiosity can serve everyone well. People are generally excited to share their knowledge, and if you can convey your genuine interest, they’re more open to the outside perspectives that you can bring to their business.

Experience

Prior to joining Axiom, Nic was an Associate in Houlihan Lokey’s Strategic Consulting group where he completed growth strategy and diligence engagements for a broad range of clients across a variety of segments (with a focus on Utilities and Industrial companies). He spent the early years of his career as a design engineer and consultant for Sargent & Lundy, LLC, a leading engineering consultancy specializing in the Power sector.   

Some of Nic’s experience highlights include: 

  • Long-term Strategic Planning – developed a 5-year strategic plan and detailed implementation roadmap for a wholesaler facing increasing competition and market disintermediation.
  • Data-driven Decision Support – provided targeted segment-level regional growth projections, quantified gaps in current manufacturing capacity, and provided recommendations on potential new manufacturing and distribution locations for a North American industrial product manufacturer.
  • Organization Design – advised a multinational industrial product manufacturer on targeted investments, strategic cost cutting, and the optimal geographical footprint for its Latin American business line based on market research, macroeconomic dynamics, and in-depth financial modeling.
  • Data Strategy and Sourcing – audited a growing SaaS company’s CRM to demonstrate the business case for investment in more robust data sourcing and process controls; identified likely ROI as a result of more accurate, segmentable account data.

Nic earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, with concentrations in Management & Strategy, Finance, Marketing, and Managerial Analytics.  

He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
