Lisa Thompson is a Partner at Axiom Consulting Partners. She brings to the firm nearly three decades of experience helping B2B clients tackle their toughest commercial challenges to drive sustainable, profitable growth.

At Axiom, Lisa is a leader in the pricing & profitable growth space. Lisa and her teams have driven billions of dollars in profitable growth in collaboration with clients in a variety of industries including process & industrial manufacturing, SaaS and software, chemicals, distribution, and B2B services. Lisa combines her expertise in sales, marketing and pricing strategies to drive practical solutions for clients underpinned by the firm’s depth in data science and machine learning.

Prior to joining Axiom Consulting Partners, Lisa was the Founder & CEO of Sturbridge Growth Partners (now an Axiom brand). Prior to that, she spent five years as a partner at Deloitte Consulting where she led the Strategy Practice for the Manufacturing Sector. Lisa joined Deloitte when the firm acquired Monitor Group where she served as a partner and board member for eight years. She started her career at Strategic Pricing Group where she ran the firm’s Chicago Office as well as the Medical Products Practice and the Process & Industrial Manufacturing Sector.

Lisa’s career highlights include:

  • Profitable Growth – a client in the SaaS and software space found it difficult to grow without offering significant price decreases. We developed a segmentation based on the clients competitive advantages and aligned product and service offerings to those segments resulting in growth that was profitable and exceeded industry growth rates.
  • Pricing Strategy – one client was struggling to maintain profits in a highly mature industrial market. We designed a pricing and competitive strategy that drove a 9% increase in total contribution dollars while avoiding a price war.
  • Pricing & Contracting – our client was experiencing significant purchasing pressure from group purchasing organizations. We transformed the pricing and contracting strategy for a $2B medical products company resulting in $90M in gross profits.

Lisa earned her Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College in 1996. Babson was ranked #1 in Entrepreneurship for the 30th consecutive year. She earned a BA from Regis College in 1991.

She has lent her expertise to several publications, writing articles for Visionary Pricing: Reflections and Advances, the Medical Industry Information Report and the Journal of the Professional Pricing Society, and the article, Rebuilding Profits in the Manufacturing Sector.

Lisa taught at the University of Chicago Center for Executive Education, AT&T Learning Center, Institute for International Research, and the Professional Pricing Society,  Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM), Financial Executives International (FEI), PROS Pricing Solutions, Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI).

Lisa has significant experience on both corporate and nonprofit boards.
