Katie Styler, Principal

Katie is a Principal in Axiom Consulting Partners’ Professional Services Practice based in the Chicago office. She serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders of professional services firms, including law, accounting, and specialty consulting. As an experienced engagement leader, she leads teams of consultants, behavioral scientists, and data scientists in the development of pragmatic, fact-based, data-driven solutions. Her goal is to align strategy, differentiating capabilities, and culture to unlock the unique value within each firm.

My passion for consulting is driven by helping the organizations and teams I serve thrive in their dynamic and complex environments. Teaching others and setting them up for success provides both a challenge and meaningful reward.


Prior to joining Axiom Consulting Partners, Katie spent three years at Sibson Consulting where she advised organizations in the design and implementation of customized, innovative human capital solutions to drive profitable and sustainable business results. During her tenure, she managed projects in the areas of executive and broad-based compensation, performance management, and career development. Her work spanned multiple industries including professional services, insurance, financial services, and higher education.

Some of Katie’s experience highlights include:

  • Firm Growth Strategy – defined the future vision for a high-growth global financial advisory firm including the identification of $250M in revenue opportunity, key areas for practice expansion, and a refined service portfolio. Partnered with Strategy Committee and Board to gain leadership alignment around the new strategic direction ensuring long-term sustainability of the firm.
  • Firm Transformation – led a business transformation effort for a top 10 US accounting firm that resulted in the identification of key differentiating capabilities to enable effective strategy execution. Outlined the transformation’s design, including approach to build each capability, key roles and stakeholders, and implications for in-flight initiatives.
  • Firm Transformation – successfully established a PMO for a top 10 US accounting firm to manage the implementation of business transformation initiatives. Included process design, ROI analysis, project management best practices, and C-Suite and Board level reporting.
  • Firm Governance – partnered with the Board of a top 5 US accounting firm with $5.5B in revenue to conduct a governance review that resulted in changes to governance practices and policies to align the current business strategy and operating model, scale with the firm, and set the firm up for sustainable, long-term success.
  • Operating Model – designed and implemented new work processes and organizational structure for the North American and European IT divisions of a €3B global manufacturer resulting in streamlined decision making and increased customer satisfaction.

Katie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from Loyola University Chicago. She frequently writes and speaks on the issues transforming the professional services industry, including automation, non-traditional competitors, and workforce evolution.
