Jay Russell is a Manager at Axiom Consulting Partners. He brings four years of consulting experience across various industries, focusing on professional service firms.

Jay helps firms design and implement operating models, business transformations, partner performance models, and change management strategies to achieve strategic goals and visions. Jay applies an analytical and behavioral science approach to balance quantitative facts with human elements of behavior for maximum impact for client’s business and their people.

The most enjoyable part of my work is seeing my clients succeed. Helping them look good in front of their boss, successfully delivering on expected outcomes of our work, and being recognized for what we accomplished together.


Prior to joining Axiom Consulting Partners, Jay spent five years at Burns & Wilcox, a wholesale insurance brokerage firm where he successfully grew and managed a book of commercial insurance business.

Jay’s career highlights include:

  • Business Transformation – deconstructed firm strategy, mapped existing initiatives and conducted qualitative analyses to identify and prioritize top 21 capabilities critical to achieving firm strategy and vision for Top 10 CPA firm.
  • Organization Design – consolidated three Supply Chain functions with a combined spend of $7.5B for a diverse multi-functional enterprise. Designed the consolidated function’s new organization, provided communication and change management support, and developed the customer engagement model.
  • Partner Compensation Model – designed the partner compensation model for a $500M specialty consulting firm during the integration of two acquisitions of competing firms.

Jay earned his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a concentration in Finance and BS in Behavioral Finance from Centre College. Jay is Hogan Assessment certified and a certified Microsoft Workplace Analytics Specialist.
